I'm not really livin' I've been staying hidden Promises I made, said I'd stay but then I didn't I've been really trippin' Take what I've been given Complying on the side I've been quiet and complicit But now I'm getting back in it I'm not really livin' Used to have a vision Used to have a purpose now I'm cursing my ambition I was on a mission Every word I'd written Won't ever mean a thing if all my songs go unfinished If all my songs go unfinished, oh And maybe I got time, but plans can change, so that ain't no guarantee At the least I gotta try to stake my claim, keep my integrity I've got so much to do, before I'm through So much to do, oh, before I'm through I've got dreams that much is true, yeah Gotta start livin', get up and do the dishes (Get up and do the) Gotta start livin', get up and do the dishes (Get up and do the) Gotta start livin' Get my heart to skippin' Resolved to be absolved of all this shit, that's my decision Tired of the pigeon-hole Limits always self imposed I've been a piece of shit, waste of space, but I'll admit it though Gotta start livin Hard to be forgiven Silent cystic thoughts keep me locked inside a prison Hop to the rhythm Stop when you get it Put those memories in a box, tie a knot with a ribbon Time might be on my side, but we'll have to wait and see, no no no At the least I gotta try to stake my claim, to keep my integrity I've got so much to do, before I'm through So much to do before I'm through I've got dreams, that much is true Yeah Gotta start living, get up and do the dishes (Get up and do the) Gotta start living, get up and do the dishes (Get up and do the) Gotta start living, get up and do the dishes (Get up and do the) Gotta start living, get up and do the dishes (Get up and do the) Gotta start living, gotta start living, before I'm through Gotta start living, gotta start living, so much left to do Gotta start living, got to start living Gotta start, gotta start living, yeah, oh

Watercolor parade Dripping down on the page Keep it between the lines Streaks of trees left behind Promised I'll be with you tonight On the way I'll breathe in the sight The ticker tape arrives in my brain As I pass by, and everybody's singing (Doo-doo doo doo Doo doo Doo dah doo dah) Oh, watercolor surprise Pupils deep in your eyes Tell me all of your stories When you're staring towards me Magic motion meets with malaise Couldn't find my way through the haze The winter can keep me secluded, Undercover for days The line is moving again (Doo-doo doo doo Doo doo Doo dah doo dah) I'll be coming over tonight Traffic starts to fill up with light I'm finding myself in a line where everybody's alright Oh

Keep grooving hot Elbow grease on the spot Finish up your food whether you like it or not I don't like your tone Guess I'll just head home Play my guitar and smoke a couple of bones I see lights out on the sea Orange, blue, yellow, green All my thoughts, they slip away I'm new in town Can you show me around I feel I lost my mind, please, do you have the time? Clock says half past three Don't sound right to me Take a look at your face and your clock-hands aren't straight Sailor, what is your fee? Two cents under your knee But for you I will say, no need to pay

Better Days 04:39
On the road that we've taken Many times before So far away for you I'm beat down and I'm naked I got debts to pay I won't die where I lay Grab some whiskey and your favorite wine Don't worry about me I'll be fine We've seen better days and brighter rays We climb up this hill all the time Picture-lamp full of clover Leaving half to wait Color my dismay Ankles held up for plunder Nothing else to do Tell me what is the use Tempered space or forgotten grace Best not to toe that line The lesser known become outgrown Discarded for the shine Keep on driving to the sunset Keep your engine running Better days are coming, the better days Keep on driving to the sunset Keep your engine running Better days are coming, the better days Keep on driving to the sunset Keep your engine running Better days are coming, the better days Keep on driving to the sunset Keep your engine running Better days are coming, the better days Keep on driving to the sunset Ah, Ah Keep on driving to the sunset Ah, Ah On the road that we've taken Many times before So far away for you

about

In many ways, WATERCOLOR PARADE represents the start of a new phase for Booth Blues. With the musical relationship we'd formed over countless live hours in 2022, as well as the live-to-tape recorded BASEMENT TAPE release last year, we looked to incorporate the studio as an instrument, helping shape moods and grooves, for our next effort.

In addition, it was our goal to work together on all aspects outside of recording, to give this EP a more cohesive sound than we have produced in the past. We continued to maintain our DIY atmosphere, with only the band working collaboratively on mixes, background vocals, and general arrangement of these tunes.

The result is a piece of which we are extremely proud. This release features one track our live audiences will know in “Dishes,” but the rest is brand new. We sincerely hope you enjoy WATERCOLOR PARADE.
